Donkey and Tiger

Donkey said to Tiger: "The grass is blue."
Tiger replied: "No, the grass is green!"
A controversy was started. To settle their differences, they decided to go to the King of the Beasts.

Before they even reached the place where Lion was sitting on his throne, Donkey began shouting: "Your Majesty, is it true that the grass is blue?"
Lion replied: "Yes, it's true. The grass is blue."
Delighted, Donkey continued: "Tiger disagrees with me, argues, and annoys me. Please, punish him."
The King of the Beasts declared: "Tiger will be punished: five years of silence."
Donkey, overjoyed, leaped up and went on his way, repeating happily: "The grass is blue, the grass is blue..."

Tiger asked Lion: "Your Majesty, why did you punish me? After all, the grass is green!"
Lion replied: "Yes, the grass is green."
Still confused, Tiger asked: "Then why are you punishing me?"
Lion responded: "This has nothing to do with whether the grass is blue or green. You are being punished because a wise and powerful creature like a tiger should not waste time arguing with a donkey. And even worse, you shouldn’t have brought this matter to me."

The worst waste of time is arguing with a fool or a fanatic, someone who doesn’t care about neither the truth nor reality, but only about winning.

Never waste your time on pointless arguments. No matter how much proof you give, some people are simply incapable of understanding, because the only thing that matters to them is proving their beliefs right.

When ignorance screams, intelligence remains silent.
